Solve : DVD drive not recognized?

Answer»

I just built a new computer. Every time I turn it on it goes straight to the memory test and when its finished (about 20 minutes later) its starts it over and will CONTINUALLY do it over. After it FINISH the first time it says pass test complete, o errors, press escape to continue. When i press escape it restarts the computer and it goes right back to the memory test. If there is any way to stop this PLEASE help me.

Mobo is a Biostar TP43
RAM is G-Skill DDR2 1066
CPU is Intel Core 2 Dou 3.0 ghz
Graphics Card is Nvidia 8800 GT
HDD is Western Digital SATA 500gb
Check the BIOS for options.I got it fixed thanks for the help.Through BIOS?
Can you give more details?I forgot that when I was going through BIOS I turned on the Memory test so every time I turned on the computer it would continually do the memtest so i went into the BIOS and turn the setting off and now its fixed but it has a new problem now.

The DVD Drive is not recognized by the computer. Not listed in Windows Explorer, or DEVICE Manager, or...?When the computer starts up gets PAST the BIOS and then stops and says-
Error No CD-ROM drive found please check power or cable
Error IDE CD-ROM device driver not installed

If I'm right i think that means i need the driver disk which i don't have so is there any way to fix this?Optical drives don't need any extra drivers in Windows NT, and up.
Check cables inside.I checked the cables the only thing is i don't know if it is plugged in backwards or not.
Here is the DVD drive model if it helps at all Sony CD-DVD RW DW-D22A-B2Normally, you can't plug power, and data cables in any wrong way. Both leads are shaped in a way, which allows only certain way to plug them in.
Try different data cable.I tried a different IDE cable and the DVD drive still doesn't work. It gets power because I can open and close it but its not detected in the BIOS.It's detected in BIOS through data cable, not power cable.
Is it new drive?ITs not detected in BIOS through data cable. But it gets power to the DVD drive.
The DVD drive is about 4 years old so I think the best option is to replace it.I agree...
