Solve : Dvd drives not working when signed into my other user profiles. Only on main.?

Answer»
Running windows XP Pro and I have created 4 accounts . The main one for me ( DVD drives work fine) 2nd for my wife and 3rd and 4TH for my kids. In the other 3 user profiles the dvd drives show up in my computer , but don't RECOGNIZE a disk. When I switch back to user profile #1 ( which was the 1st one created , the disk drives work. HELP!
Are the other account Admins or just user level accounts?yes . all other accounts have admin privelegesIs it the same disk working in the first account but not the other three?

How are you viewing the disc?

Also, are there any error messages? Is it the same disk working in the first account but not the other three
SAME DISK OR DIFFERENT DISK DOESN'T MATTER

How are you viewing the disc? VLC PLAYER OR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER OR THRU EXPLORER
Also, are there any error messages? NONE AT ALL.

Here is something I just tried. I went into main username and went to MY COMPUTER found both disk drive icons ,right clicked and ejected both drives with no problem. If I follow the same procedure under my 3 other user profiles nothing happens( the drives are listed in MY COMPUTER)Go to Device MANAGER, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
You'll see two items:
- ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
- ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.THANK YOU !!!!! That worked . Such a SIMPLE fix , if you know what you're doin. Thanks Again Broni ! Now my girls can watch their Hannah Montana/Jonas Bros / etc. Super!
