The answer is in the specs you provided. It PROBABLY has no buffer, either. You might be able to speed things up some by rearranging drives.
If you have 2 IDE connectors and 1-IDE Hard Drive and 1-DVD/CD Drive, make sure there is only one drive per motherboard connector. The only IDE controller USED is Master for the DVD drive I have noe IDE hard drives.

And it has something called DVD RAM Write Speed 12 X
This is the one?

On 2nd thought, I can see nothing wrong.I have just one IDE controller and one IDE DVD ROM.
None of my Hard Drives are IDE.

And my DVD ROM is the only THING connected to the IDE Controller.

And it is set to UDMA in device Mnager.

And the video on all DVDs skip and the audio from DVDs skip.

It did work great a fue weeks ago but not now.

I realy think it is a setting I am over looking in Media Player Clasic Houme??

Any help??OK I put a Star Track DVD in the drive and it starts up and the music plays befor the Menu comes up.

As soon as I pick a Title to play from the menu and it plays just the Video plays smooth but the audio skips.

what does this meen anyone??

It sounds like maybe a speed thing or something.

Do DVD drive have to be faster and do I or can I ajust it some how??
I am lostI just tryed to play DVDs with VLC and the audio skips so it is not my Media Player Clasic Houme.

If the audio from DVDs skip but not audio from CDs does it still meen it may be Dirty in the DVD ROM drive??Replace the drive...
Especially if it is more than 3 years old...
They don't make 'em like they used to ...and a new dual-layer DVD burner is only 40 Bucks shipped from NEWEGG...it is new not even one year oldHi

So if has less than one year is still in Warranty.
Contact the brand from PC and them the repair Center from your area.

Hope that Helps.
