Solve : dvd pc card problem?

Answer»

hey whats up hopefully you can help me anyway been working on an OLD pc its a hp pavilion 7850 with 933mhz PENTIUM 3 with 512g of ram
I installed an nvidia video card its a pci card with 32ddr and it works fine the problem is when i install the liteon dvd burner the pc will not boot all i get is 3 beeps and a blank screen.now if i PULL the ribbon out of the back of the dvd PLAYER it boots fine. Also if i take the video card out the dvd burner works fine but they will not work together. the stock power supply for the pc was 130 volts i installed a 480 volt thinking that was the problem but nothing has changed anyone who can point me in the right direction would be great help thanksMost HP's use proprietary power supplies. Are you sure that thing is compatible with all pinouts? Has it EVER WORKED right since you upgraded the PSU?

Go to the HP site and see what the beep code means. It does mean something important.
! well im not sure that all the pinouts are right but the pc boots up and works fine so i guess they are right and yes the dvd works fine without the card hooked up and vice versaDid you even go to the HP site? They suggest disabling the onboard video to prevent problems. Did you do that?
