Solve : dvd restarts computer?

Answer»

New problem hurray -.-.  i installed a new dvd burner samsung SH-S223Q. it worked fine once >.>  i tried to BURN some dvds to test it out and it worked fine til about 5% then froze the computer up. Now when i put in a blank dvd it just freezes right after it attempts to read it , or SOMETIMES it will just restart my computer. I also have a cd drive below it and it reads fine so i dont know WHATS wrong   plz helpThis COULD be a power supply issue if you are near the maximum wattage after installing the new DVD.it was actually replacement for another dvd driver that died. i just tried to unplug the cd drive from the power to see if it was a power issue but it still does the same thing Unless it was an entirely different issue, something may have killed your other DVD and now the problem might be repeating.
Take a good look at the data cables and try different power connectors.oh it wasnt a weird issue like this with the other drive the only thing that was wrong with it was it just didnt burn because of a bad lens  but it read dvds fine and i was able to put blanks in fine without my computer blowing up loltake karnacs advice  or dig that hole deeper! It may also be due to a conflict with the burning software and the DVD drivers. Try using a different software. You may try Nero trail  or free IMG burn:

Have you tried updating the drive firmware?
