Answer» HELLO all, I have a compaq presario 900 notebook with windows xp now this is the problem here... I can view DVD's most of the time but audio CD's and cd-roms don't work. I have looked through a lot of the THREADS on here with similar problems and found that I should go to the device manager and uninstall the dvd/cd-rom and restart the computer. I did all of that and the computer found new HARDWARE and now nothing is playing...help please. So you UNINSTALLED, and then let Windows Automatically reinstall? You probably need more updated drivers than that... Go to the drive manufacturer's website for updated drivers. Flame
