On my new 17" LCD Monitor i have a DVI & VGA connection and the same goes for my Graphics card does this mean that i can use 2 monitors - one DVI and one VGA or would they conflict with each other, just a thought The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video interface standard designed to maximize the visual quality of digital display devices such as flat panel LCD COMPUTER displays and digital projectors. So what every you WANT really one or the other...DVI is better than VGA.I have two LCD monitors (both 19", same brand, Viewsonic, almost same model), one connected to DVI PORT, one to VGA port of the very same video card, and I don't see any VISIBLE quality difference.You can only use 2 monitors if the vid card supports it and has 2 output connectors.If he does not have two connection points then why would he ask?Perhaps he thought that the other port was an adapter. Thank you all for you reply's - i now understand that the DVI connection gives you better quality, i just wondered as there are two connections the DVI and the VGA if it is possible to connect another monitor to say the DVI as i already have this one connected to the VGA port. He does it and he says it works fine with two monitors.
Most of the quality cards today have dual outputs.
