You'll save neither doing that; the fans are designed to be DRIVEN through air. Mineral Oil- or any LIQUID- is far more viscious and will burn the motors out faster.

And of course there is that whole problem that every single component you take out is covered in oil.They should build one encased in toothpaste...I wanted to say that... but I didn't think you would APPROVE, Patio.
Anyway, it would have to be clear gel to see the components. I have located source for clear gel toothpaste in large quantities.
