Answer» I have an eMachine, 1.5 yrs old, 256 ram, win xp home, AMD processor. When powered on it will not boot. Thought the power sup. went bad and changed same with no results. Tried reinstalling the ram with no results. When I power up, the CPU fan runs and the DRIVE light comes on. Other than that, nothing happens. No beeps, no monitor activity, no hard drive or floppy drive activity.u said u changed the power supply, so the only other thing could be the motherboard. (if u cant EVEN enter the BIOS then its the motherboard.)Thanks for the reply. I kinda had a feeling it was the motherboard but was keeping my hopes up that it could be saved. Looks like it may be time for another machine. Is there any WAY to install another BIOS? I have some OLDER machines that have a chip I can remove and replace but I do not see any on this newer one.Not replaceable. Sorry. :-/
