Answer» do you belive it will happen on dec 21st 2012? I think there is a good possibility because the people that predicted this have been right about everything so far.. The Long Count CALENDAR of the Ancient Mayans ends on Dec 21 2012. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Other, like myself, consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted. Quote nobody knows what will happen in 2012!Notice how they incorrectly spelled "Something" wrong? Anyways, they cant predict 2010 either. Or 2011, or 2013! Or 2009! what a coincidence! "Most Psychics cant see past 2012" Gee. Only a minority of psychics are real. There is little evidence pointing to it. Stop reading conspiracies that have no backup, its not good for you, and makes you susceptible to government control when you believe so much without questioning. I thought the world ended in Y2k. besides, it's 2038 we have to worry about. when the C runtimes time_t overflows. This was a good laugh though... read some of the links... OMG... I swear I couldn't stop laughing... People will believe anything, it seems. and then I saw a blog about it... big surprise- comment moderation was enabled and all the comments were positive. "der... I wonder why?" they are going to feel like they wasted their life when they wake up in 2012... and, just like in 2000- nothing was different. I especially love the whole "psychics" line. I mean, most people can't see past the horizon, but nobody says there's nothing beyond it. I didn't even realize the mayans used the gregorian calendar. And lastly... when has an ancient civilization who slaughtered and killed their enemies and would start wars "just for the *censored* of it" (Garland Wars) ever had an ounce of CREDIBILITY over the science of modern times? Have these people heard of science? I guess some people would prefer to listen to a dirty old man wearing a eagle suit and prancing like a ninny talking about how they haven't sacrificed enough virgins then actually questioning his motives for all these virgins when nobody has actually see him sacrifice any, and he's been using an awful lot of the community's tying vines. They used to say the SUN revolved around the Earth. Now we know otherwise. they used to say the earth was flat. Now we know otherwise. they said the world would end in 2012. well... they didn't. they just ran out of paint and decided to keep going the next day, then they CAME back the next day, and said, "pah, that'll last long enough. We can add some more later.". And that's when the spaniards came for a visit... so the mayans were a bit preoccupied for a while.
