Answer» hi,
For the past week or so i've been getting messages when PRINTING telling me the parts in the printer need a service.
Now it wouln't let me print at all with the message saying "Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. Contact your dealer for replacement."
As i intend to get a new printer as soon as i've used up the two COLOUR carridges i've still got, so don't intend to pay for a service. Is there any way to ignore this so it'll allow me to print.
thanks, John
sorry forgot to mention there's two flashing lights. the ink drop and the paper.
the paper is ok and i've just put a new cartridge in a couple of hours ago and been using it ok.
ta.From what I've just read on the site below, you can use SSC Service UTILITY to reset the protection counter and as far as I can see your printer is supported. That should let you bypass the message, but whether or not the printer will function is of course a different story. But since you're planning on buying a new one anyway it can't hurt to try. http://www.hm2k.com/posts/parts-inside-your-printer-are-at-the-end-of-their-service-lifethanks deerpark,
will try that, like you say i've got nothing to lose
cheers, john.Glad I could help you sure did deerpark.
took it to bits, cleaned the pads (how THICK with ink??) , reset the counter and now back to normal
i'll have to WATCH out for other tips
cheers, John. I'm glad to hear it worked. And now you can service an Epson printer to boot.
