Answer» For Token Ring Hardware is Irrelevant , For Token Ring Hardware is Irrelevant ,Ahem. I think I just said that I've never heard of RJ45 being used for token ring. Not that it was impossible. Have you ever come across an RJ45 TR LAN? Exactly. It's usually BNC or some other coaxial standard. Quote The only topology i know that would Fail if one computer Broke , is a BusHave you heard of multidrop busses? Yea i know , but the Best one is the Ham Sandwich Token, see what you do is you put little Data Capsules in a Ham sandwich and pass it round the Office, and when it get to the Right Person , he opens it up and finds his data Safe and sound.. unless it gets Eaten, this is the Flaw in The Ham Ring, There is no Redundancy and quite Often the Ham Token Expires along the route to its destination. i would not Recommend this for a LARGE multi user environment , as it tends to cause Hunger or the likes man has never known. Quote Have you ever come across an RJ45 TR LAN? Exactly. It's usually BNC or some other coaxial standard. Yes i Did . If you have Ever Used a large 64 PORT hub , you would see why token Ring is still about. But Really on a Big Hub like that token Ring is the Only thing that will work. well it wasn't actually 1 hub it was 4 16 port hubs uplinked. it was Quite Insane i have no idea how it worked at all the Way it was.. it was Very Very Slow.
