Answer» Hey, big problem here. I have an 80g external hard rive that for some reason will not show up on the explorer "tree". I have checked the status of the drive in the systems properties, and even rebooted EVERYTHING. I hot plugged the hard drive and heard that new "hardware found" chime, but it still does not identify itself on the tree. Updated the drivers and even reinstalled the driver. I have a lot of info, I know it is there and I think the computer knows its there. However I am not able to "see" the external drive. This problem is present on my DESKTOP and also when I PLUG into my laptop, with the same problem as described above. This hard drive is a Maxtor 80g. Please help.Look up the drive LETTER and type that in Internet Explorer. See if it allows you to access the drive.http://www.allcam.biz/support/faqhdd.html
