I'd STILL run the diagnostics for a little peace of mind...
You DLoad them from the drive manuf.'s site and USE them to create a BOOTABLE CD...I still cant the find diagnostics for it

mines not supported by that installer dos thing

the hard drive SEEMS to be working fine

I believe SOMETHING installed on it may have been fatly and cause it to slow computer's down
