Usually all you'll have to do it plug it in to a usb port (or two if it requires more power), and voila, you've got more space. To transfer from an internal to an external you can right click on the file -> send to -> whatever DRIVE the external is, or you can have the internal and external windows open and drag and drop.I like to use http://www.pricewatch.com/public/ to shop for computer parts. You can buy external hard drives at wal-mart or just about any other department store. I bought my last one from Radio Shack. It was a Maxtor One Touch 4. I like it pretty well. To transfer data, it's pretty SIMPLE. I ususally just drag and drop files from one drive to the other.
