Solve : External HD 500 GB? |
|
Answer» Hey guys! I purchased a 500 GB external hard drive and was wondering does it have to be the media hard drive to be able to connect it to modern TVs with USB ports? I purchased a 500 GB external hard drive and was wondering does it have to be the media hard drive to be able to connect it to modern TVs with USB ports? That depends on what the TV supports, not what the drive supports. For example my FRIEND has a 42" Sony Bravia TV it has USB ports and a bunch of other video and AUDIO input/output plugs. How to find out whether one TV supports external hard drive or not?check the tv manual i guess?Quote from: kuszmania9999 on January 03, 2008, 10:07:37 PM check the tv manual i guess? Yup, or the manufacturer's website.Possibly, but I have doubts they would mention something like that there. Usually its how the tv works and what you can or can't plug in certain ports. So it'll probably say something like "USB Port" but no detailed explanation for what! But it wouldn't hurt to do so!Alright, I'll see what I can digg up! Thanks.I am currently on my laptop because my video card fried, some of you might of read my other posts. I don't have adobe acrobat on the laptop yet so I couldn't open the manual for the TV, but this is what they say so FAR about the ports in basic DESCRIPTION: "Designed for maximum versatility, Sony LCD TVs are equipped with a comprehensive range of input interfaces. HDMI, the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface, supports enhanced or high definition video, together with digital audio to provide spectacular image and sound reproduction. PC connectivity is also accommodated via HDMI, so you can plug into your TV for a better viewing experience."...which is completely useless since that's about the HDMI ports and not USB ports.Quote I am currently on my laptop because my video card fried, some of you might of read my other posts. I don't have adobe acrobat on the laptop yet so I couldn't open the manual for the TV, DLoad and install Foxit for reading PDF's....FREE.Sweet, thanks! |
