Answer» Hi y'all I'm new to this and heard a lot good stuff about this site So i am wondering if there is anyone that can help me as I am really really stuck I have just put in a new motherboard and harddrive and my pc won't boot ,all it does is come up with this message " NTLDR is MISSING" ctrl+alt+delete to restart I have TRIED to changing the Bios settings so that it boots from my CD/DVD drive but after a minuteit switches off have i done something wrong or is there something I have missed. pls pls pls help many many thanks in advancePlease tell us something about your system/OS, etc. I have had this error a couple times when reformatting an hdd, replacing RAM, those kinds of THINGS. Finding that file on XP Pro once was fun, but that is what I had to do on that particular system: Boot from the XP Pro CD and FIND that file, add it to the system. All was well.
My fix, as I am going to assume you are using XP (NT based OS), is to reinstall it. I am a stickler for booting off a floppy THEN reinstalling the OS. I am going to be a lost soul when floppies are peripheals and not part of the machine!!
Hope this helps! There are replies to your dilemna in the thread you started in the MSDos section...
Double posts just confuse the issue so i'm closing this topic.
