Answer» I have just notice a faint line running from top to bottom of my monitor. I have tried changing resolution but it is still there runing down the middle of my monitor. it stands out mainly when the background is Black. Everything else LOOKS crystal clear on the monitor. Does this mean the monitor is on the way out, Its 6years old, Or are there some other things i can try that i dont know about to fix this problem. Seems ashame to get rid of monitor when all else seems really clear.system details are:>Aperture grill?Amd 2500, Xp Home, Geforce fx5900, DDr1024. Whats Apeture grill mean?.Aperture grill & shadow mask are the 2 different ways the manufacturers use to mask the PHOSPHOR on the front of a crt. Google them both & you will find out all about it, too much to type here. The bottom line is that a fine line is shown by aperture grill crts, it's the supporting wire that holds all the other wires steady. It's usually more noticable on a plain white screen but you never know. Can you try your monitor on a different computer and also try a different monitor on your computer? It's an easy way to cut the problem in ½.
