Answer» Hi Im hoping SOMONE can help me here, As this is doing my head in. I have just put a new CPU cooler iso 9001 certifeied fan over my cpu. and now my computer only boots up for a few seconds. The lights come on the fan moves around, everything looks like its of to work, But suddenly everything goes dead. So i put the old fan back in, the one that comes with the cpu, and all is ok again. Now i know if this has fixed the problem and i should leave it this way. But can somone tell me why is the other fan doing this to my computer. the new fan is a BIGGER one because i wanted to cool my AMd down abit. Id be greatfull of any replys. and yes i have checked all wires to the fan.Perhaps the fan is faulty. Return it.Could it be anything else you can think of, Other then the fan.Other than the fan, I've actually seen someone with this probleb except different FAN. Boot into CMOS, when your PC Boots look and see what button to push to boot into setup or whatever it say.
Most likely its DEL or F2In Reply To #3
what am i looking at in the cmos, Do i have to change somthing?power DRAIN....maybe .....LIST specs.......I have windows xp home, 2 hard drives, One cdrom, One dvd burner, Barton Amd 2500, Geforce FX 5900. What do yo mean by a power drain can you be abit more specific. I have tried taken the power leds out of the cdrom but still the same. In Replay to #3 you say you have seen this problem with somthing else, But all you say to do is go into the cmos, You dont say what im suppose to do or look for in there. my computer dies before i can even get to the cmos.
