Saran Wrap is a brand, just like Xerox and Google. You're right - it is plastic wrap. We use them as convenience, but it's really not correct. In fact, I seem to remember, years ago, that Xerox went after some people for copyright infringement for using "Xerox" instead of "photocopy." Just like the way everyone calls adhesive bandages "Band-Aids", or everyone calls glass cleaner "Windex", or people who refer to any command line interface as "DOS". |
