Answer» I have a puzzle (at least to me) that no one has been able to help on just yet.
My website URL is dennismmamana.com With Firefox on my laptop computer, I can open it as dennismammana.com, or as www.dennismammana.com/index.html, but NOT as www.dennismammana.com -- the way most people would type it in. It just shows up as a Network Solutions page (that I've long since redirected to my webhost SimpleNet).
This happens ONLY with Firefox on my laptop computer; Firefox on my desktop opens every combination of these, as does my IE6 on both computers.
So I'm wondering if there might be a Firefox setting or something on my laptop that needs to be changed? Or something more complex? And, of course, I'm concerned that if it's happening to me, might it happen to others as well.
Thank you so much for helping to clear this one up!
Dennis
What version of Firefox are you using and what is the ERROR given when you try to access your webpage WITHOUT index.htm? It's probably a cache problem. Ctrl+Shift+Delete clears private data (such as cache).I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7. Also, I've cleared my cache--as well as every other check box except passwords, but no change. How is the page redirected? Javascript? HTML headers?Well, as it always seems to do... it's somehow fixed itself when being "threatened" by experts.
I cleaned the cache a few DAYS ago with no change; I did again last night after your suggestion but it still didn't seem to help. Later in the evening, however, it all seemed to change and it works just fine now!
Hopefully this settles the issue... thank you for your advice!GREAT; feel free to come back for more ideas if it reappears though.
