Answer» Many times I have removed a CDR or a floppy disk dr from device manager in order to GET the driver to reinstall. What I wish to find out is, if I can do the same with the controller for the floppy DRIVE? Thanks in advance BThe big question here is WHY? Without the floppy drive controller, you can't use a floppy. It does not need any special drivers and is usually controlled from the bios. The controller will be built into your motherboard. You should have no problems removing it (Windows XP does not grey out the uninstall icon when i select the controller), and it should be refound and reinstall on reboot.
But, as 2k said, why? With the more modern versions of Windows, you can update the drivers without uninstalling. Why would you want to uninstall then reinstall the same drivers, UNLESS it's not FUNCTIONING for some reason?
