My external hard disk got infected with a virus. After CLEANING or removing the virus THRU avast anti-virus, now, all my files/folders have their hidden attributes grayed out. I have to select the "show hidden files and folders" just to see them, is there any way around this? Can somebody please help me how to return back these folders to normal status? Thank you very much for any advice...

I am not "agacult", however, agacult and I have the same problem. I TRIED your suggestion for the command prompt, C:\Documents and Settings\ Bernard Gibani\, I type G :\ and press enter (G is my external hard drive) but it did not go to G:\, INSTEAD it came back as C:\Documents and Settings\Bernard Gibani\. So how can I go to G:\? I am not familiar with dos command but I followed your instruction. Please help thanksOk haha sorry about that. WELL , if G is the location of your external hard drive then it should go to it when you type it in. Are you sure thats the correct drive?
