Hope I am posting the question at the right place.  I have a new laptop which will not boot up or turn on , the on light, the battery and power cord lights  come on but nothing else happens the SCREEN REMAINS blank, I send it back to the manufacture and they said everything is fine the PROBLEM must be with the poweer cord which I did not send; my broter-in-law brought a BRAND new cord and said it worked fine ( he lives in Miami) he send it back to me in Jamaica I plug it in and everything was fine, but everything is back to square one -same problem occuring - I really would appreciate your help.I'd check to make sure that the power you're connecting the laptop into is a steady power source. It almost seems to me based off your description that something is up with what you're connecting the laptop into. You may want to consider getting a UPS to help ensure a steady flow of power is getting to the laptop.
