Solve : FreeRam showing less Memory? |
|
Answer» I have 3 sticks of 1gb memory installed on my COMPUTER, I also have FreeRam installed to monitor it. When I go to my computer/properties it says I have 3gb but FreeRam says I only have 2gb(that's total memory not free, RIGHT now it says I have 2047 MB free and 2048 installed). Is something wrong with one of my sticks of memory? Also before I used FreeRam I used another RAM defragmenter and it also said I only had 2gb Thanks in advance for the help.Do you have 7950GX2 SLi? Do you have 7950GX2 SLi?This is what's on my computer - OS - Windows XP Home SP2 Motherboard - ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Video Card - Nividia GeForce 7900 GT/GTO (only one) Power Supply - Antec TruePower Trio 650 Quote You're only using a single MB of your RAM?I'm not sure I understand. You dont know wether u have a 7900 GT or GTO? This is what u said "it says I have 2047 MB free and 2048 installed". That means that u are only using a single MegaByte of the 2048 installed.Get rid of FreeRAM. Programs like that actually reduce performance, IGNORE them and avoid them, uninstall any you have. Look under the system properties (right click My Computer) - how much RAM do you have shown there?Quote from: Calum on June 13, 2007, 05:09:21 AM Get rid of FreeRAM.Basically right click on My Computer, click properties and another small window will pop up. At the bottom it tells you how much RAM you have IN TOTAL.Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on June 13, 2007, 05:21:15 AM Quote from: Calum on June 13, 2007, 05:09:21 AMI've always known to look at my computer and it has always said 3gb but since FreeRam said I only had 2 I was a little concerned with the conflicting totals. But since you say free ram is JUNK I suppose I remove it. Thanks for all the help.
