Answer» I have a friend who uses Dual Monitors for his Business. He has a dual monitor video card. It is only 16MB and I think it is limited. His picture is elongated. I have seen where people use an onboard video card along with a second AGP or PCI Video Card to run two monitors. Is there any secret I should know before I send my friend to the STORE to buy a Video Card.
Just want to gain some more insight.
He does not need any more computer problems!!!Maybe not onboard video, but primary and secondary video cards. Onboard designates "on the motherboard". COMPUTERS usually do not allow simultaneous OPERATION of onboard video and dedicated video cards. Picture is elongated because both monitors need to have the same aspect ratio (width:height), i.e. resolution. You can set them differently, but it's difficult for the eye to adjust from one to the other. Older monitors and TV's were 4:3, wide monitors and TV's are 16:9. Before buying a video card, you need to know more about the computer and the monitors, too.Video card with 16MB of RAM is rather obsolete. You can get one with 512MB for about 50 bucks.
