Solve : FrontPage - Text not appearing on .GIF pictures in browser?

Answer»

Hi guys,

I hope you can help.

I'm designing a SharePoint site on FrontPage 2003 and am using .gif clip art files as banner backgrounds by simply adding text to the pictures. As far as I know I'm adding the text CORRECTLY by using the 'Text' OPTION of the picture toolbar. Unfortunatley though, although the text appears when I go to the preview tab on FrontPage, it doesn't appear when I go to view the page through my browser (IE6).

I'm a bit lost so any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks very much indeed.

Dan.Did you save the change in FrontPage before viewing it in IE? Also, try refreshing the page in IE after making a change in FrontPage and saving it.Hi,

Thanks Soy bean. I've tryed that but no joy I'm afraid.
Other changes made in FrontPage do appear on the page when displayed in the browser? Is that RIGHT? If you open an image - one of those .gif clip art files that you've added text to - in an image/photo editor, do you see the text? If you have no photo editing software, just use Microsoft Paint, which comes with all Windows systems. Hi Soybean,

Yeah that's right. Any other changes I make appear in the browser no problem. I tryed pasting the image into paint and (interestingly?) the text didn't appear with the image.

To be honest I THINK I'm going to have to drop the banner thing now as I need to get the site up and now that I've played around with it a bit it doesn't look too bad WITHOUT it.

Thanks very much indeed for all your help mate, I really appreciate it.

All the best with whatever you do
