Solve : FSB Speed & CPU?

Answer» HELLO,

I'm looking to start my FIRST computer build soon and am planning to use an ASRock P43Twins1600 board with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The board boasts a 1600MHz FSB speed BUT I've heard that it's only an upper limit made possible by overclocking. This is OK for what I need it for. My QUESTION is this:

Is it OK to use a processor with a clock speed LOWER than the FSB speed of the board? I'm pretty sure they MAKE chips with a 1600 bus now. This board, though, will take 800, 1066, 1333, or 1600.Yes you can use a lower FSB but if you can spend the xtra $ install the 1600
