Solve : GA-P55M-UD2 rev. 1.0 POSTing, but rebooting after the Gigabyte logo?

Answer»

Hello! So, I aquired a bunch of broken motherboards in the intent of fixing them (component level). After doing some resistance CHECKS on the board in question, I figured it must be working and plugged my CPU, PSU, a RAM stick of 1600 MHz and an R7 240 (since the board doesn't offer an iGPU solution). Powering it on went well and all, the board would display the boot logo, would beep once as in "the POST is good", but would not RESPOND to the USB keyboard (known good, works on any other device) and wouldn't flash the lock lights on it either. Basically, I cannot enter the BIOS.

The board also reboots after displaying the motherboard logo.

Any idea what could be the cause? A corrupt BIOS? Maybe a wrong BIOS on the backup BIOS chip, as that seems to have been replaced by someone?Hi

Your motherboard supports a PS2 keyboard which should work and allow you to enter the cmos setup.
If it does check the USB ports are enabled in Dos MODE and are enabled.

If you don't have a PS2 keyboard SOMETIMES the 2 USB ports above the ps2 port work when the others don't.  Nope, nothing. I've also checked the VOLTAGE on the PS/2 and USB connector. It fluctuates between 0 and 5V as the board initializes the BIOS, which is wierd. At startup, the voltage is consistently 5, while the BIOS is starting it fluctuates.
