Solve : geforce gtx 550 ti graphics card fitting problem?

Answer»

ok so i just got a new graphics card for my computer the geforce gtx 550 ti and the metal part on the end circled in this picture seems to be blocking me from putting it into the slot but when i look at other graphic cards pictures they seem to have the same little THING sticking out so I'm wondering what should i do? oh and my computer is the acer aspire m5910

[regaining space - attachment deleted by admin]You could try removing the bracket of the graphics card and then see if it fits.
What I mean by "Bracket"

As you can see, a bracket is screwed onto the card with the small "bolts"-you can easily remove them with pliers.
EDIT-the bracket is used to support the gfx card too-I have had no experience with large, heavy graphics cards-the PCI-E connector may snap under its weight if the tower is PLACED upright without the bracket's support. Please exercise caution.that might work but is there anything i can use to help support it besides that? You could also use pliers to bend the LOWER end of the bracket back in such a way that it does not TOUCH the case...

I guess it would be possible to build something like this:

A unique solution from powercolor to help support extremely heavy graphics card so that your beloved PCI-E connector doesn't snap mid-game.oh i figured out what the problem was i didnt remove the bracket cover i didnt think about doing it first because it doesnt have removable bracket covers i had to bend and brake it off but it works now! but thanks
