Answer» Hi,
I BOUGHT a Dell Insiprin 17R last week. For the first several days, Windows 7 froze multiple times a day. I contacted Dell TECHNICAL SUPPORT but nothing they did helped matters. So I switched to Ubuntu (dual BOOT), figuring that maybe the Windows install just was messed up. But there's been strange stuff going with Ubuntu too--twice the system checked for system errors when it BOOTED; once the clock applet failed and once I could not log into my account (I had to have the system again check for errors, and that at least got it so I could log in).
I can't think of what specific part might be causing a problem here. Is the laptop just a dud?If it's still under warranty i would take advantage of that immediately....I wouldn't even worry abut what part is bad, I'd just send it back to Dell for a warranty replacement.
