Solve : Going to explode... Printer driver does not install correctly.? |
|
Answer» I am having this problem for a while. The problem concerns my printer. I have a hp psc 1610 all in one printer. When I use the installation disk to install the software and the driver for the printer and connect the printer so the installation can finish the setup the installation recognizes the Hp 1600 printer which is the wrong one. I have the hp 1610. Then each time I START my computer the wizard want me to install the printer all over again, because the installation disk does not recognize the correct driver. Maybe, the CD has a wrong driver on it. Go to HP site, and get a driver from there. I have installed the printer software through the cd before and have gone to the website before and none of these methods seem to work.alyoob,Have you ever successfully used this printer on any computer? When you go into control panel and click on "printers & Faxes" what devices are displayed? In device manager do you have any yellow asterisks or question marks beside anything? How old is this printer? truenorthYes i have used the printer successfully before but my problem is that when the computer boots up it displays the installation wizard that want me to reinstall the driver again. That wizard slow down my computer until I exit it myslef. The printer is diaplyed but the problem is when I start the computer not that I cannot print or use the printer.alyoob,My initial suggestion would be to disconnect the printer from your computer. Then unistall the hardware and any associated drivers for the printer (or for that matter any other printer software for that printer or any other that you can find). Then reconnect the printer to the computer and let the computer lead you through the "new hardware found" wizard and when you get to the point of requiring the drivers do your search for them on line at the company website. By the way what manner of connection to the computer are you using is it a printer cable or a USB connection?truenorthLet me see what's starting with the computer... That, we know. His problem is this: Quote Then each time I start my computer the wizard want me to install the printer all over again, because the installation disk does not recognize the correct driver.Had the same problem on a client's computer. The computer would constantly demand that the printer be reinstalled. Over and over. Ended up reformatting after spending two hours trying to find a solution. There's a reason I no longer delve into Hijackthis logs and whatnot; it's waste of time. Some systems are irreparably damged and just need a good old fashioned reformat to save time and future problems resulting from poor system maintenance. Actually, this is known, and documented ISSUE with some HP printers, and Windows reinstallation may not help, because it looks like HP service, I mentioned is the culprit. You can read more here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=buu00690#N1004E and here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00215712 You can try solutions listed at the above links, but the workaround seems to be the fastest way to fix it: Quote If the resolutions above do not help, leave the PML driver service set to Disabled . Most if not all printing functions will work without it, and print quality and speed are not affected by this.BTW, HJT is absolutely not a waste of time, because it's an excellent tool to trace all kind of computer problems. Nobody is obliged to use it, though. |
