Answer» People I NEED a lot of help from u all...i have a assembled DESKTOP PC...it is around 4 years old...now the problem I'm experiencing is that it doesn't boot up at all...the CPU has 2 LED lights..one green and another red...when i press the power on button only the fan starts off but nothing happens in the computer....only the fan keeps rotating and the green light is on...the red processing light doesn't light up at all!! pls help me!! Can you tell me anything about your rig? Like the CPU, PSU, Graphic and mainboard.
Also what exactly is the issue? Which fan is spinning? The CPU cooler?
The CPU has 2 light or the mainboard does?
When you say you assambled it do you mean you plugged in the monitor, mouse and keyboard or do you mean you assembled it from scracth Ie PSU, mainboard, RAM, HDD's etc.
If it is the prior, CHECK all your connections. I mean really check them, Unplug everything and then firmly push them all in.
Check you have power to everything and turn on.
Hope this helps,
assembled as in all the components that is monitor,CPU are of different manufacturers....it is a intel dual core processor..motherboard is ZEBRONIC 945GC ! the front face of the CPU unit has two lights next to the power nd restart button!! so wen i switch on the computer...the rear fan i.e. the cooler starts rotating and the green LED glows but nothing happens to the computer i.e. it doesnt' boot up... only the fan keeps rotating ! thats almost all i know about my PC! also the PC i'm experiencing problems in has windows XP service pack 3 installed on it... maybe that could give a hint about the core problem! I think you may be confusing the CPU with something else.
When you are referring to the CPU do you mean the big box with the DVD drive and where all the cables go into. I apologise in advance if I sound patronising. for future reference this is known as the case or PC. The CPU is in there but the box is NOT the CPU.
If so have you tried what I have said ie checking all connections?
Let me know,
I doubt the OS would have any effect on it from startup. Do you get anything on startup on the monitor?
When was the last time you KNOW the PC worked?
Have you ever opened the case?
Does the monitor work on another computer?
Does the KB and Mouse work on another computer?
thanks,
ya actually its the outer case i.e.PC i'm talking abt not the CPU!! i've reconnected everything again and again a trillion times! but nothing happens...it doesnt boot up!!
it workd last time 2months ago. no nothing comes up...the monitor(sony) when switchd on only says no input availiable.go to power save..
yup no problem with monitor!! KB and mouse also hav no issues!! Hook up only the bare minimum and test:
CPU/fan assembly PSU Keyboard and mouse Monitor 1 stick of RAM...
Post back with results.thts all i hav as a PC!! even then it doesnt boot up!! any other solution?MY GOD!
There are 2 of us.
I am actually having the same problem with mine.
Basically it comes down to 4 possible issues, 1 the motherboard, 2 the CPU, 3 the ram and 4 the graphics card.
Most likely it would be the 1 or 4.
Actually it could be the power supply.
Before moving on try this. Unplug the power cord only from the computer do not flick any switched they shoul all be on. then hold the power on button for 30-60 seconds. saying for each 1 "the square root of -1 is i" or and suitably long phrase.
then reconenct the power and turn on. If you are lucky it may work...
I am guesing you are not really experienced in computers in there actual construction so you have acouple of options now. 1) Go out and buy a new PC, files can easily be recoverered and I am sure many people on this site will help you. Just have in your title, "recovering files from a dead PC" 2) Build a new computer. Very easy to do and you LEARN so so much by doing so. Again loads of people here should be able to help you.
It isn't worth you getting someone to look at it at £XK.CD an hour plus the £50 + for components.
If you have a tech savvy friend they may be helpful in diagnosing which 1 of the 4 it is and you may get away replacing just 1 component at the cost of £50 and a bottle of stout.
Sorry it has gone this way.
Regards,
I have never heard the name of your MBoard manuf...

They are a brand sold in India, as Google reveals.
@patio : sir, it was done because a computer engineer tld me that my intel chip set was faulty and was unable to work togedr with other components of the PC i hav..so he recommended me to go for Zebronic 945GC...... could u jus tell me by finding out if it is a trustworthy chipset!
@No-one : i'l try ur advice and revert back to u! Quote from: Salmon Trout on November 07, 2010, 08:24:21 AMThey are a brand sold in India, as Google reveals.
