Solve : good gaming pc part?

Answer»

iam building a gaming pc. Its not going to be a pc that plays the games that require the best parts I am putting in the case a http://www.amazon.com/Foxconn-Core-Intel-Motherboard-G41AP/dp/B004DCHOCS/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310100962&sr=1-12 and a http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Core-Processor-1333MHz-LGA775/dp/B000R9BJ2C/ref=sr_1_27?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310094146&sr=1-27 and a http://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-PC3-10666-1333MHz-240-pin-Channel/dp/B0014BOQ54/ref=sr_1_20?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310596923&sr=1-20 and a http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-HD-5450-PCI-Express/dp/B0036ORMXU/ref=sr_1_49?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310431237&sr=1-49. Are theese a good combination is the motherboar, cpu, ram, and graphics card all a good parts for playing games like 18Wheels of Steel and games like GTA:san andreas. Oh and the amazon site SAID the motherboard supports up to 8 gb of ram but the actual company's site said up to 4gb of ramDO NOT BUY FOXCONN. Its workers are from chinese sweatshops-there have been reports over here of REPEATED suicides. its customer support is terrible, its products are low quality, its company's site does not list the motherboard specifications properly, etc. My foxconn mobo died after 1 MONTH-contacted support, said the motherboard didn't exist???

I would suggest MSI-a cheap TIER 1 mobo manufacturer.
Intel is overpriced. AMD's Phenom dual core is the best bang for the buck-the corresponding motherboards are also cheaper.

MSI motherboard range that i use for my everyday computing: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/#/?sk=Socket%20AM3 the AMD 760 chipset. you might need the AMD 880 chipset.

The RAM is good-Corsair DDR3 RAM, i see. I personally am happy with 2 GB RAM -I can run san andreas perfectly.

Get a GDDR3-GDDR5 graphics card. DDR2 is a rip-off in these days.
This is what I use for occasional gaming. http://www.amazon.com/PCI-Express-EN210-SILENT-1GD3-V2/dp/B004I8W4VI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310962960&sr=1-1

This looks good, too. http://www.amazon.com/Evga-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-01G-P3-1430-LR/dp/B0046HAW7Y/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310962960&sr=1-11

Are Apple low quality too ?? Foxconn supplys Apple. I know this a computer FORUM, but can i wear Nike, Adidas. Can i shop at Ikea and Walmart. Woahh... slow down. I'm no one to tell anyone what to buy or what not to buy, but I figured I had to put that up there as an example of personal experience. Yes you can buy Nike, Adidas, whatever.

I think Apple is low quality-why oh why did they put a 1.2 GHz Core 2 Duo in the new Macbook Air? and claim that it can handle moderate gaming?

Depends on whether you want economy over brand name.

Great quote from the above CNET link:
Everyone has a right to their opinion...Apple folks (and I used to be one) just love to bash Windows users, so what's the diff eh?

DO NOT BUY FOXCONN.

Save your cabbage for a good MBoard...it's important.I saw some great reveiws for it.biostar... is clearly more reputable than MSI, and both are Taiwan-based manufacturers. Biostar's prices are a little cheaper because of it being a Tier 2 manufacturer.Quote from: patio on July 19, 2011, 10:07:57 AM

isn't the athlon ii x4 640 DIRECTLY beneath it cheaper???
http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-640-Processor-ADX640WFGMBOX/dp/B003M7BLOW/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_1it depends where you buy itI think you should rename your Topic from good gaming PC to something different as you are scrimping on the most important components...
