 1#  Question  first ! *

what do you want to do  and  what is  your  goal in  computering ?     mm... a high-powered system that can run possibly multiple taxing programs at once as well as being capable of running very graphics-intensive games to their full capacity (ie crysis).

and yes, I use newegg ok,    give me  5  minutes*

we'll  build  you  THE  BEAST !!

 lol alright.

in the meanntime how is my set-up as i wrote it out?

I haven't purchased any of it yet (minus the two 8800 GT's...  basically I upgraded to vista recently and upgraded my ram and video cards... but when running the crysis demo it was VERY choppy.  THUS I believe it to be my old-ish AMD processor (socket 939 and with old DDR ram, though 4 gigs).  So, I've decided to do an overhaul and get a new processor, Mobo, and power supply (SINCE i'm currently using a 460w supply... which is on the cusp of what is recommended for the two video cards anyhow).

A "BEAST" system would be ideal, but I'm certainly not wanting to spend *too* much to make it  incase you are curious, in addition to the two GT ko's i have currently, exactly what I had planned on buying from newegg:

AND:        and 2 evga 8800 gt's KO    <  WOW   !!!!!     awesome ~
so you think that ram is better?  even though the kingston ram is 1066 (versus 800)GOT ME*

I only read that you were looking at  DDR2

I did not know  that  DDR2  was rated that high yet,  my  bad,,,,,,,  yes if the speed is that good on this type of  ram   GO FOR IT,,,   I  know that the ram I gave you is extremely  fast at  4-4-3-5   for  dual  ie.... ( 2# 1 gig sticks)     like  75.00   us  dollars  now       extremely  cheap  fast   Ramwhat do you think... new in box MSI board or an opened box asus striker extreme?

about the same pricealso... when it is an open box item... do i get NOTHING except the mobo?  ie no cables, etc, etcwtb opinions You have a nice build list there,s oem good suggestions from honvetops as well, I was going to suggest a more powerful PSU too.
Two 8800GT cards are going to absolutely rock, buckle your seatbelt before booting up
How much RAM are you planning on buying?
You say you're getting a 2Gb kit, but then list it as double the price - are you getting 4Gb?  I don't recommend it unless you're going with a 64 bit OS (what OS are you going for?  You haven't mentioned it yet).
Also, what HDD are you planning to use?
And I would go for the Striker Extreme open box, AFAIK it's just been opened and not used, cables etc should still be with it.  If you're not sure, contatc newegg and ask.
