Answer» Quote It's no crazier than multiple monitors. It's just a MATTER of how a person wants to spend their money, right? meh, if it was me i would sell the chipYou mean the video card, right? I don't believe he's actually bought it yet, but states he intends to get it.Track, don't think I was the one giving you a hard time about it. My point was that was your prerogative.Quote Track, don't think I was the one giving you a hard time about it. My point was that was your prerogative. I dont blame u, dude. My cause is just, however i think u were right and im probably not going to get the motherboard now. You see, the main reason i want it is because my anger with Nvidia. You know how to teach an animal something new u must sometimes hurt it, well Nvidia decided that humens are no better then animals. Instead of saying "yeh, listen ppl u need to start using PCI-E, thnx" they decided to shock us everytime we reach for an AGP card. They took a 7800 GTX and made it weaker, without the possiblity to reverse the trasition and called it the 7800 GS and now theyre selling it at the same price point as the GTX just because its an AGP card. Not that Nvidia is better then ATI who make NO AGP cards whatsoever anymore, but i mean they treat us like we cant understand their cause. So thats why i want to get the GTX, wich is almost twice as good as the GS now. But im not going to buy a new motherboard just for that. The only way ill get one, is if u think that i need more RAM, i have 1GB DDR 400, u think 512MB more would really be significant along with my 7800 GSTX and P4 3.0Gz w/HT? 8-)Only thing is tho those old CPU's that fit , cant Keep up with a New GFX card, it wont ever preform to its fullest in that computer, and then it will have just been a waste of moneys i just wasted a whole lot of moneys on my new system, i got to start building it last night , and i nearly fell asleep in the case... its a big case i could live in it , has space for 8 HDD'sQuote Only thing is tho those old CPU's that fit , cant Keep up with a New GFX card, it wont ever preform to its fullest in that computer, and then it will have just been a waste of moneys http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119039 thats the case im using on for my computer this comin school year http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129017 Thats my Case , but i think this might be Tread hijacking... So ill say this if you don't Upgrade you Mobo and CPU to a new Dual Core system and you Buy a 7800 Gfx card its like buying a FERRARI Engine and putting it in two VW BeetleQuote if you don't Upgrade you Mobo and CPU to a new Dual Core system and you Buy a 7800 Gfx card its like buying a Ferrari Engine and putting it in two VW Beetle My motherboard supports AGP so that cant be out of date, SINCE thats what the card needs. My CPU is very good, its a P4 3.0Gz Presscot w/HT. Im staying away from 64-bit and dual-core would only have a 5% increase in performace on any new games since they use only one thread. If the maker says this card is not supported, then it's time for a new card and let someone else enjoy this one on a board that is supported. If the manufacturer can't solve the problem (and they have the best shot at it) I doubt we will.Quote http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129017 nice case man @gx1, i AGREE, we cant fix the mobo's problems if the supplier cant even fix em |
