Answer» okay, my question.. i had an OLD dell dimension 4700 with a pci express graphics card in it. that computer had some serious problems. no matter how many times i attempted to fix it, it persisted to have "bad pool caller" death screens, "irql not less or equal" death screens, etc. and i was just wondering. if i took the graphics card out of that computer, there is no way that the card is corrupted and it could cause damage to my new computer? if that made no sense, let me know and i will reword it for better understanding.Failing hardware on 1 machine could be anything...but it can't create the issue on a fully functioning component... If it's not the card at fault it should run fine in the new system. BTW i suspect the PSU on the old system...really? i was suspecting either fauly RAM slots or ram sticks. what makes you think that would be the issue, because that is no PROBLEM to replace, i have tons.Random inconsistent error messages is what makes me suspect uneven power.
Easy enough to swap a known good one in of the same or greater wattage to eliminate it as a suspect.
Good LUCK...and keep us posted.well thank you, i hadn't even taken that into mind as a possibility. but it's better to eliminate all the suspects and find the culprit. thanks for the help, -QuickFixNo problem... Welcome Aboard !
