Solve : Graphics Tablet acting bizzarely... any ideas??

Answer»

I'm using a LaPazz graphics tablet on my vista... it's always worked absolutely fine, no problem.... today is different.
It doesn't want to recognise the pen...
well, it knows it's there, because when i tap it, the little LED light flashes to say it knows it's there, but it won't move the curser around the screen. I put a new battery in a couple of days ago so i know it's not that. fair enough - it must be broken.

but it's not.
If i open the graphics tablet control panel, and click the 'pressure' tab, the tablet suddenly springs to life and i can use it anywhere... the second i close that little window down, it stops working again...

i've restarted the compter 3 times now, and it's the same story.

W... t... F?!?!?!?!

ANY ideas what's wrong with it???Try replacing the battery in your pen (if applicable) and/or reinstall your tablet driver/software using its CD.battery is brand new and i've uninstalled and re-installed all the software and checked that the drivers etc are all up to DATE and it's still the same story - my dad's FRIEND who is our REGULAR computer chap has no idea what's wrong with it either - he thinks it may be some kind of driver conflict or something? but isn't sure what to do about it and i know absolutely nothing about drivers myself. The status says it's working NORMALLY, but it clearly isn't... this is very weird! thanks for trying though! i'm open to all ideas - i'm an artist and photographer, so my tablet is very useful to me!

i've googled around and found another person who had a smiliar problem to me, but he was on a mac and apparently, according to my tech guy, that solution won't apply to my vista... so it's a bit of a mystery!

thanks! What was the Mac solution? Do you know?

What is your graphic tablet's model number?yep - it's here:
http://www.justintheloop.com/technology/the-lapazz-graphic-tablet-wp8060-tab08-on-os-x/

the model is the same one i thinkIt seems like the driver software doesn't start automatically.

Try starting it manually.i'm GOING to sound dumb now, but how do i do that? i'm not too familiar with drivers - i know what they're for, but i've never really meddled with them other than reinstalling them or updating themNot the drive, the software. It should be either in the Start Menu, or you can go looking through your Program Files.
I don't know what it's called, but it's just like another program.
