Answer» hi everyone,
I bought a new hard disc 1 tb seagate, one MONTH ago. I am using it. it is having a strange problem.
sometimes my hard disc led glows fully, and a clicking sound is heard from cpu cabinet. my computer just FREEZES at that time.
when I shake the cabinet. it starts working again. this frequency is increasing DAY by day.
is there any problem with my new hard disc. I checked everything but didn't got a clue.
configuration ----------------
3 GHZ Intel core 2 duo. 4 GB RAM 1 TB seagate hard disc SATA Intel DG41WV motherboard. windows xp sp2 OS DVD/CD combo writer
if anyone know what is going on , please help me.
thanks in advance. What is MAKING the clicking? Take the hard disk out, put it into another computer (a usb enclosure will also work), and if it clicks, you know that the disk is the culprit. If it is your hd that is clicking you need to replace it immediately.
