Thank you.Here is an easy recommemndation. Buy and install a new Hard drive. Keep the old one on the shelf as a spare. There are n o practical remedies for hard drive noise. Older hard drives always make a crackling/clicking noise when seeking data. For CURIOSITY sake -if possible-, remove the covers from the old drive, install the cables and let the drive hang outside the PC. Start up and then it will show you where the noise is coming from. You may learn something.
