my homemate shut off her computer while she was formatting her hard disk. Is there any way of REPAIRING it?Well, tap at F8 while it loads in BIOS, and enter 'Command Prompt only' and type:
format C:\Why did she do this ? ?
Chances are the F8 THING won't work since it was already in the format procedure so the best way would be from a bootdisk...
You didn't mention what OS she is running...She just bought a second hand computer, it didn't have an OS installed. She tried installing windows 2000, but I guess she got CONFUSED when it STARTED formatting the disk and she turned it off. She asked me for help, but I'm not exactly an expert in the field of computers, let alone crashed hard disks, either. Boot with the Win2000 disk in the CDROM drive and start over.
