Answer» I just built a new pc with a new sata wd 250gb hard drive. Every time I try to install xp, I get an error during formating of my PARTITION. I have tried it SEVERAL TIMES using different sized partions all with the same results. Any ideas?you might have some bad sectors go to the manufacture and get the checking tool.. unlovedwarriorduring the installation are installing the SATA drivers ? early in the installation there is a pause when the install stops asks about any SCSI driver that are required, at that time you should install the SATA drivers usually from a floppy disc that came with the motherboard, although windows XP Sp2 has almost got SATA drivers they are not part of XP installation and must be added, they are in Vista but there is also a few other driver problems with Vista.It WOULD also HELP to post some specifics about your hardware.
