Answer» Hi,
I am looking to upgrade my wife's Toshiba Tecra A3 HDD. She has an IDE interface. I believe that means I can use an ATA, ATAP, EIDE, IDE or PATA interface drive to replace the existing drive. Is that correct? Yes, I THINK so. Your limitation is that you can't use SATA DRIVES.Thanx for the reply. There is information in the knowledge base but it does not specifically state which interfaces you can use if your interface says IDE.The best PLACE to determine what drive that machine will take WOULD be Toshiba's website...you don't have to BUY one of their drives neccessarily but that's where i'd start...
All of the designations you mentioned are a bunch of ways of saying the same thing...my guess is she needs an ATA/IDE 2.5" laptop hard drive...the size/capacity limitation is determined by the machine
