Solve : hard drive not recognize/detected? |

Answer» When I OPENED the casing of my pc I accidentally unplugged the sata cable in my hard disk..When I plugged it again I encounter these messages at start up: Auto-detecting pri master…not detected Auto-detecting pri slave…not detected Auto-detecting sec master…not detected Auto-detecting sec slave…not detected CMOS Setting Wrong / CMOS GPNV checksum BAd.. I change the sata cable thinking there might be a problem with the cable but still I encounter same messages… Auto-detecting pri master…not detected Auto-detecting pri slave…not detected Auto-detecting sec master…not detected Auto-detecting sec slave…not detected CMOS Setting Wrong/CMOS GPNV checksum BAd.. When I checked IDE devices at SET up it says; Primary IDE Master…not installed Primary IDE Slave..not installed Secondary IDE Master ..not installed Secondary IDE Slave..not installed What COULD possibly the problem with my pc Hope this info could help: OS: XP Mobo: Asrock Prescott 533 Hard drive: Seagate RAM: DDR 266 – 512MB 8 mb shared memory Processor Type: Celeron R CPU Did this happen while the power was on ? ?If you unplug the hard drive do you still get the "CMOS Setting Wrong" ERROR? If so then I think a BIOS reset is in order. |
