Answer» O.K so I was getting my son a new computer for his birthday and I went to power it up and nothing comes to the monitor. I've tried swapping out the parts I could and when I replaced the amd phenom BLACK edition 9850 with an OLDER amd athlon 5200+ dual core it works fine. The MOTHERBOARD I'm USING, from what I've read on it, is an EGS geforce6100sm-mv:1.0 ht2000. Is this motherboard not going to support an AM2+ socket proccessor like the amd phenom black edition? I know the amd 5200 is only am2 but I was under the impression that the only difference between am2 and am2+ was hypertransport 2.0 and 3.0.
