Answer» Hey all If you have the cash, get an 8800GT. i second the extra gig of RAM. i have 2 gigs and even with a 768mb graphics card, i use about 80% of it while playing crysis. Things to get (this holiday season): 1. A new graphics card - 8800 GT 2. An extra 1024MB of identical RAM 3. A new CPU - E2180 Total: 350-400$ Quote from: Calum on December 03, 2007, 11:17:22 AM Finally, a new CPU may also help, but it's not such a bottleneck right now. REPENT! As the system stands right now, the CPU is not a bottleneck. With a new graphics card and 2GB of RAM, it will become a bottleneck. An E2140/60/80 is cheap and will increase performance, but a new graphics card and more RAM should be a higher priority.what about overclocking the CPU? Quote from: Eredell on December 05, 2007, 04:31:12 PM what about overclocking the CPU? go for it. but you might WISH to invest in an after market cooling solution if you wish to overclock it. Close, but the correct answer is you must have aftermarket cooling, if you have to ask wether to overclock or not. No, you do need an aftermarket cooler for a 65nm Quad-Core CPU. If you don't want to burn your house down, it's needed. |
