Answer» I'm trying to upgrade my 500gb hdd to a 4tb hdd. i BACKED up all data on the 500gb and turned off computer, swapped drives, and turned back on. it immediately went to bios but showed no boot drives. i reset the pc a few times still no change then i put the 500gb back in and it started no PROBLEM. there are no important files on the drive just games, videos, and files. can anyone tell me if i did something wrong so i can rectify this.Windows and all apps NEED to be installed to the new drive...
Or you could clone the old HDD to the new one.i have everything windows and pc related files on my m.2 drive NOTHING but personal files on the hdd but i will definitely try cloning my files over to the new hdd to see if that works just have to wait for the adapter to come in.i cloned everything over and i still have the same problem. start computer up with the new hdd kicks me straight to bios and shows no bootable devices. the devices im replacing is for personal files only(things taken from another computer). my windows files and drivers on om my m.2.Hi There is something missing from the info about how the M2 drive is configured to boot or not boot. With the original sata installed can you boot windows post a screen shot of the Disk manager page showing the partitions. I thinking the boot is on the sata drive and then loads windows from the M2.
