Answer» I hit Google but I'm not even sure how to word this. Basically I just installed a 4x1 HDMI Selector, one of the inputs is my secondary Desktop output. The switch outputs to my TV (or rather, a second switch that can output to my TV; temporary until I get a real duplicator). The HDMI switch won't SELECT a channel that is not sending data, and the Windows 10 side won't output to a channel that isn't receiving data. Any options aside from hotplugging? I'd prefer a software solution but cheap hardware will SUFFICE if i have to.
Pic of the switches just because.
Maybe there's something I'm completely missing to make my setup work. Some easier, all in one device maybe? I have several video sources I want to be able to switch to; PS4, my desktop, a HD Video Camera, more to come. I want selected output on both my TV (for monitoring raw video) and my laptop (for COMPILING, editing, effects, and streaming) Thinking about BUYING a KVM switch to beable to run my USB devices on either PC, but I dont see that helping with a duplicate/extended monitor output.
This pic is just for attention, or to convey the vision i GUESS.
