Answer» i have some headphones and some speakers which both go into the same socket into my computer. there are two SOCKETS but sound only comes from the devices when i plug the device into one of the sockets the other socket doesn't give out any sound when a device is plugged into it. so instead of having to switch leads over when i want to use headphones or speakers is it possible form me to use both sockets and then pick where i want the sound top COME from. thanks for any help You can only use a sound output to output audio so I WOULD say no. But you can buy one of these and plug it into your sound output. It WORKS fine for head phones and powered speakers. Ask your local electronics store for an audio splitter, they should have them.
