Solve : Hello, can anyone help newbie with web hosting??

Answer»

I've just begun building my first web site, which wasn't too hard considering I'm pretty FLUENT in XHTML and CSS, however, now that I want to GET it up onto the web I feel like I've hit a brick wall. Do you recommend any sites that a have a tutorial or two on hosting small, hand-coded sites? Or PERHAPS you have your own methods ! Either way, I've noticed there's a lot of smart people here so any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
IGYou can sign up with 110mb. They offer very decent hosting for free. Uploading is easy too, as long as you keep one of the files named index.html otherwise it doesn't seem to work. (Haven't really looked into it) 110mb is awesome.
My site is hosted there.
It's free hosting, go to the site as linked to by Raptor to see their impressive list of featires.
the only 2 drawbacks are that your site is called username.110mb.com, rather than yoursite.com, and you have to have a working homepage up within 15 days of registration.
Hope that HELPS you, if you run into issues then post back, I do have experience with 110mb as stated. Thanks guys!

Ok, I created an account there.. now what ? What's all this PHP and SQL stuff I keep seeing? And what's this program they want me to download? I only have an index and a CSS document at the moment, but I plan making many more subpages and images for upload later on. What do you SUGGEST I do first? Thanks

MJYou only need to upload .html and .css files, SQL and PHP are different languages that you do not need require nor have to master to use their service.

Thanks alot for your help.
